Dhillon Tents · Planning guide

A backyard tent that fits your Brampton celebration.

A good backyard setup starts with the space you actually have. Dhillon Tents helps you plan covered dining, seating and room to move for family celebrations in Brampton. Use this checklist before choosing a tent.

Measure the clear space first

Measure a clear rectangle where the tent could stand. Leave decks, sheds, garden beds and other fixed features outside that rectangle. Send photos looking across the space and up toward branches or other overhead obstructions, together with the measurements.

A 20 × 20 tent has a 400 sq ft footprint. The installation also needs space around the canopy for its anchoring and access. Our planner allows an initial 5 ft around each edge, so it starts with a 30 × 30 ft clear area for this size; the team confirms the actual clearance and anchoring for your property.

Match the layout to how guests will gather

Our starting estimate for a 20 × 20 tent is 40 seated guests or 60 standing guests. A seated meal, a buffet and an area for gifts use space differently. Tell us which activities need to happen under cover at the same time.

For example, a 40-person birthday dinner starts at 400 sq ft using our seating estimate. A cake table and food station may call for more room. Use the tent planner to compare a larger tent or a second covered area before requesting a quote.

Plan the route into the backyard

  • Photograph the gate and the route from the unloading area to the tent location.
  • Note gate width, stairs, narrow passages and shared access.
  • Tell us whether the setup surface is grass, paving or another material.
  • Include your preferred installation and pickup windows, especially when access is shared.

These details help the team check whether the proposed equipment and installation will work at your address. A clear lawn alone does not confirm that a tent can be installed.

Bring the furniture into the plan

Choose six-foot folding tables for flexible rows or buffet stations, or five-foot round tables for grouped dining. Our table estimate for a 20 × 20 tent is up to 9 folding tables OR 4 round tables before reviewing the complete furnished layout. These are alternative planning estimates, not quantities to combine or a promise of space for every chair and aisle.
